first runner up

Regarding yesterday's post, behold photographic evidence of very small children working on their mad skillz.

Audrey is in the front row sporting verypink pants and ribbons in her hair.

(There might also be a bit of pink on her shoes, but I'm not telling.)

She might be a little off in the hands-stretched-to-the-side maneuver as demonstrated by Coach-I-forgot-his-name, but I say Babygirl gets an A for effort...and it certainly looks like she can "reach high to the sky" with the best of 'em!

Y'all have a good day :)

msm: on laundry and tiny alleged dribblers

Y'all.  It's 11:58 in the p-m around here, so time is of the essence if I'm to be bonafide in calling this masterpiece my Monday Money Shot.

(So I guess I'll cut right to the chase...)

(Ha!  Not likely!)

The above photo pretty much sums up my current focus, excepting my detour to the local YMCA where I dropped Audrey off at her first Little Dribblers practice and nearly died from all the cute.  If you ever find yourself feeling a bit blue or glum or even cranky I dare you to find yourself some three-to-four-year-old basketball practice.
Hilarious with also a good dose of precious.

Well.  I digressed quite a bit right there, didn't I?

Back to the above photo.  I finally had my new washer and dryer delivered today and wasted no time in testing it out.  It's been loud and busy around these parts today but I'm feeling more than a little productive.  It also helped that I hung three pictures and a mirror during the course of this very same day.

Another week or three and I'll be moderately settled in, and then what on earth will we do?

For now?  I suggest sleep!

Nitey nite :)

p.s.  I'm joining in with Flower Patch Farmgirl for Money Shot Monday :)

interstate moving, naynay-style

Well.

I'm slowly getting settled in.  And by slowly I mean I finally replaced my shower head and currently know where both my toothbrush and phone charger are.

Progress may be slow, but don't judge.  My help and I have been BUSY!

There was breakfast in bed with multiple episodes of "Super Readers,"

and a fair amount of organizing and, well, mess-making,

as well as some obligatory cousin-ly bickering (with THIS face NO WAY!!)

(Apparently they needed a little more practice on being rotten)

AND THEN!  On Saturday Peyton helped us help Mommy & Daddy get moved in while enjoying a tasty treat

Doesn't Kari look pretty in her new kitchen?

True story, productivity is EXHAUSTINGZzzzzzzz...

Y'all have a good day!

rest

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

msm: an update disguised as drivel

So here's where things stand right now.

I found my hooks and got my new - (I know! I actually plunked down $19.99 and bought a new curtain!)  (I'm happy to say I finally have shower-curtain peace) - shower curtain hung, AND followed that up with a very-much-needed shower.  And it was great.  Except the shower head was pretty lousy.  (Why is it that Kate moves from place to place with the best shower pressure I've ever seen and I move from place to place with sad, tired, and also pitiful pressure?)

Either way I'm clean and refreshed and also my hair smells better.

After achieving a certain level of clean I ventured out again to return some of the things I bought yesterday that didn't work like I wanted them to, and proceeded to nearly collapse in a twitchy heap whilst battling the crowds.

Apparently there are a lot of people in the Big City.  Who knew.

Either way I emerged victorious with both a Water Pik and a 12-pound butterball.

(Bring on the carbs!)

After finishing up with all the crazy I dropped by Katie's to pick up an oh-so-very-anxious Audrey who'd basically been sitting by the door all day with her packed lunch (so she could eat with NayNay!) and half-gallon of milk.  (Babygirl loves her milk.)

Now I'm sitting on the floor having consumed my cheese sandwich & chicken noodle soup (thanks Kate!) and enjoying both my Pepsi and my lunch date....while ignoring the total and complete chaos which surrounds us.

It'll all get done.  How can it not with such a perfect little helper?

Y'all have a great day!

timhntty part four (and this one's a doozy)

I'm moving!

(Again!)

But this time I'm crossing state lines.

Yup.  It's true.  I'm off to Carolina.

Sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but Big Things have been happening very fast and I've been a little a lot on the busy side helping Kari get moved while simultaneously getting myself packed up and holding down my day night job.

I'll share more details later (ad nauseum no doubt), but for now I'll just tell you that on this very day I am moving into a little apartment almost exactly between Kari's new home and Katie's home.

I had no intentions of moving again, like ever, but when God put Kari and Drew less than an hour away from Katie and Jeremy it only seemed right to consider...and then this apartment became available at a delightfully reasonable price, so it only seemed right to grab it and go all YAY ADVENTURE.  (Three cheers for move-in specials!

Anyhoo, that's what I'm up to.  I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend :)
I'll be in touch when I crawl out from under the boxes!

timhntty part three

This boy!

This sweet, funny, loving, complicated, yummy second-grader?

Well.  He's back in public school!

He is loving it and doing GREAT!

(and I'm out of a job!)

Happy Friday :)

msm: timhntty part two

Another little something I might have neglected to tell you?

My baby is packing up all of her worldly possessions and moving away from home.

(For seriously.)

(I'm not even kidding at all.)

Not only that, but she's packing up her husband and her baby and taking them with her.

sigh.

In a nutshell, Drew got a wonderful new job, at a wonderful new church, in a wonderful little town.  So it only seemed right for her to go with.

And of course as The Mom it certainly only seems right that I spent my Monday helping her sort through her life & put it all into boxes and/or the trash can.  (There could have been a bit of junk-tossing taking place as well.)

I'm happy for them really and truly, but there has been a fair amount of Wow! Life is changing all around and where did the time go and my baby went and grew up
and did I mention WOW?

(Not that I'm feeling melodramatic or anything.)

Later gators!

timhntty part one

It might appear by my recent lack of blogging that my life has fallen quiet and boring and devoid of fascinating minutiae.

However, I assure you that would be an false appearance.

My life has been filled straight up with all manner of fascinating minutiae.

ALL MANNER.

For this reason, I decided to begin a little series this week I like to call

things i might have neglected to tell you.

(Clever is what I have never been called.)

(And yet, we remain friends!)  (Yaay!)

First things first.

Owen is two!

You heard me right!
It has already been two whole years since this sweet thing joined our family.

I mostly can't remember life before he came along.
Whatever did I do before I knew this yummy little bit of toddler perfection?

Never ever ever could I have imagined the joy wrapped up isuch a grody, stinky, sweet-as-sugar, clumsy, funny, smart, veryloud small-boy-bundle-of-delight package.

Happy bloggy birthday greetings, sweet heart-of-mine!

Naynay loves every grody, stinky, sweet-as-sugar, clumsy, funny, smart,
veryloud speck of ya :)

Happy Election Day!

the one with a lot of peyton-holding*

*and also Kari.  I dunno.  My girl is just all over the place.

I thought eventually I might wax poetic on our trip to the Pumpkin Patch, but if I wait for poetry it will never happen,

So it's official.

I give up

These will have to speak for themselves...

...I KNOW, right??

Somehow I think they'll manage to convey...

All the BIG FUN :) :)
