But Hey, A Girl's Gotta Putter

Well.

Here we are.

I just couldn't leave well enough alone.

You'd think I'd learn by now but OH NO,
I have to keep tinkering and puttering until it seems my head will fly straight off.

It can't be helped though.

Evidently I'm a tinkerer and also a putterer
and might possibly have no choice but to follow my great ideas wherever they might lead us.

(You're welcome.)

Never fear, though.  I saved my last bloggy template, and I suspect she will be back
when the birds start singing and I pack away all things snowman.

If not before.

Happy Tuesday!

p.s.  The picture above has nothing to do with my tinkering and/or puttering,
but the sweet girl in white on the left is THE BRIDE of whom I had no pictures.
Isn't she pretty??

Well I Did It, Folks

Update:  So thanks Phil and Michelle for leaving me very helpful comments, but I proceeded to tinker and promptly lost 'em.  Just thought you should know I didn't delete you on purpose.  I do appreciate your kind efforts on my behalf!      I hate technology.  Technology is not my friend.

I got tired to death of all the google-commenting aggravation, so I have installed the latest of my bloggy experiments for your continued consternation pleasure.

A lovely little platform called Disqus.

I've seen it on other blogs and really enjoyed it because it can be so much more conversational.  I (and YOU) can reply directly to the comments left, which I feel fosters, and encourages, yay even nurtures that lovely feeling of community that we value so highly here at A-B Inc.

I've tested it on my page, using each of the options, and best I can tell you have all manner of choices in ways to "log in."  You can use your Google account (if Google didn't stomp on your feelings and leave you un-sign-in-able), your Twitter handle, or even your Facebook connection if you so choose.

If you prefer to remain less...connected, feel free to leave me a fake name and I think that will likely work as well.

However, I am very sorry and also completely powerless to do anything about the odd gravatar (cartoon-y picture) that accompanies the more...disconnected sign-ins.

I choose not to dwell on the creepiness of all this "click-a-button-and-they-know-who-you-are" stuff and am instead pretending it is still 1971 when I could run all over the neighborhood until dark and then proceed to eat the dinner that I didn't have to cook for myself.

I digress.

I'm just gonna say it.  You would make me happy if you could try to leave me a comment so we can test it out and I can work on any "kinks" in the system.

I strongly dislike kinks in the system.

Thank you, as always, for your kind support.

- - and Happy Weekending!

BTW - I'm just checking, but did you hear that I'm going to be a Naynay again??  Yippee!!

A bit of a complaint and also my cute grandson

Well Blogger has been behaving like a petulant child for the last few days and took my (in my humble opinion) quite adorable post about Audrey with it.  Word on the street is they will restore things back to normal some time today.  I suppose time will tell!  Unfortunately my play/blog time is now over and I have to go to work, but in the meantime here is a picture of my sweet boy.  Guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Even if you are coping with a petulant child :)

Happy Friday!

p.s.  As always, Thanks Katie! for the picture :)

I know, I know...

I'm going to give you all whiplash from all the switching around and shaking things up and never for one minute leaving well-enough alone.

What can I say?  I struggle with decisions.  Unfortunately for all of us, this is who I am.

I welcome your opinions regarding my latest look since I still lack peace in this venue.  NO PEACE.  I especially desire to know if you are feeling claustrophobic.

Why yes, I do at times let my OCD out to play.  Why do you ask?

I know I must seem silly, but I don't want all my friends to go away because I created a claustrophobia-inducing place to visit.   I care, people.  I care deeply.

On a completely unrelated note, if someone somewhere out there would like to "follow me" I would sleep better tonight as I need symmetry in my life.

I'm just sayin'.

Happy Saturday!!

I try and I try and still not springy

So here I am.  Working and slaving and trying to have a lovely, simple, springy blog with clean lines and happy colors - but not too bright...wanting my space to be cozy - but not too cluttered...with perhaps a touch of the unique and original.

And yet I have no idea what I'm doing.  Seriously.  Not even a little idea.  or one idea.

I am known in computer circles as clueless.

So here I am again.  Somewhat tired and fatigued by my efforts and mildly unsatisfied with my results.

And on top of that my nose is all runny and I can't stop sneezing and my face feels all full and I might have forgotten why I ever longed for spring in the first place.

(Not that I'm one to complain, you understand.)

It is truly delightful around here today.

And we are literally right back where we started waay back in September,  except with a slightly orange-y color instead of the pink.

Go figure.

Perhaps by the time I'm bored again I can find someone with some mad bloggy skillz to give me some pointers.

In the meantime, I now have to get geared up for work.  Perhaps, just perhaps, I will post something mildly relevant to something tomorrow.

Who knows...maybe one of the half-a-dozen thwarted great ideas I had on Saturday before I decided to be responsible and clean out my closet...will actually make it to print.

To entertain us all and make me feel like this is an actual blog post worthy of a date and a title I shall now request that you all participate in my very first bloggy poll....

as soon as I figure out how to get the cotton-pickin' poll on here.

Happy Wednesday!!

So here's the thing...

I have missed y'all - a lot!  However, I am having a terribly hard time getting caught up on what I affectionately refer to as MY LIFE.  That confounded spring cleaning that I began a couple of weeks ago has me completely out-of-whacky, and I can't seem to catch up.  (Of course my side trip to help move my daughter's family didn't help my disorganization any.  Just sayin.)

Also, you might notice the ole bloggy home is looking pretty different - and not at all like I envisioned.  I tried something and it didn't work, and now I don't have 6 or 18 hours to try to beautify it, so I'm going with the simple.  I almost kinda like it.  For this week anyway...who knows what next week might bring, HA.

Anyhoo, you might remember I determined that I would put my Jesus ahead of all my little life-distractions during this season of Lent.  I'm sorry to report that is only going moderately well.  But I am trying to keep all worldwideweb-y activities behind my time with Him.

(By the way...how pitiful am I?  I'm pretty much certain that He should always be at the top of my "list.")

Sigh.

Be that as it may, I have to get back to my homework and my job and my chaotic bathroom situation, but I'll be back tomorrow with mucho thankfulness.

One more thing - just a warning but the words? they are building up near to bursting!

I fear much random is in our future.

Happy Sunday!

Construction Zone!

Ok, so here's the deal.  I was utterly and completely and without question tired of the pink after the four long months of blogging so I decided a change was in order.  That's all well and good until the internet decides to become temperamental.  I am at the Panera typing this and they are kicking me out...and yet THE TWITTER!  Basically there is much tinkering to be done, but it shall have to wait.

Please in the name of all things merciful do not judge.  I have two or seventeen OCD tendencies within me so sleep is going to be tricky enough without any excessive judging :)  In no time at all I'll have things just how I like them...so in three months I can be desperate for a change again.  Thank you in advance for your kindness :)

Nite y'all!!

I'm thinking it's the thought that counts

So here's the thing.

As a little Christmas present for you I thought I would put together a little playlist of some of the music I've been enjoying this month & throw it on the ole' blog.  The cool thing that I personally like is you can "pop" it out and play while you scrub your toilets and wash your dishes...if you're so inclined.  This seemed like a good idea in theory, but the jury's out on the actual execution.  First off, I hope I didn't scare you to death when the music kicked in.  Does it help at all to admit that I have no idea what on earth I'm doing?  Also, I am fully aware that it's kind've big for the space along the side, and since I am actually quite OCD about such things it's stressing me out in a major way, but I'm plumb worn out and am just going to leave it for now.  I'm also afraid it is slowing things down a lot...but again, maybe it's just my imagination?

I assume this is not earth-shattering information for you who actually know how to function in the blogiverse, but I would appreciate it if you could not mock me within earshot.

Feel free to mock away in the privacy of your own homes.

Happy Friday!
Renee :)
