Enough, and more

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow.
Melody Beattie

On this second Monday of January I am filled with thankfulness.  As I reflect on all I have and all I have to give it takes my breath away, and I feel a renewed sense of purpose and responsibility to share with others.

Please show me, Sweet Jesus, how to fill some need for someone this week,
and Thank You for...

toddlers arranging clementines, and

delightfully unexpected gifts

early morning sunshine streaming through my kitchen door and the way the filtered light dances around the room

pinto beans bubbling on the stove

footie pajamas

smiling infants

diligence

clear eyes

the tingle of my cold nose while burrowed under my down comforter

payday

the sound of the heat kicking on against the raging winter wind outside my window

psalm 65:11

dreams that come true, God's promises kept

the internet and the spiritual encouragement that can be found there

hot showers

trimmed bangs

passion 2011 streaming live…

replaced expense checks

lazy saturdays with family

visiting the "dollar store" with a five-year-old

panera wi-fi, and

the way this...

gently, silently, peacefully - and quickly - becomes this...

Happy Monday!

I know, Meghan, right? Mondays have become my favorite weekday (still a big fan of Sunday :) I love reading other friends' testimonies of God's faithfulness, and now that I'm a single empty-nester I'm thoroughly enjoying the community aspect. Isn't it fun how God provides needs we sometimes don't even realize we have?

- and Kelly, Yaay for lazy Saturdays! They are usually so rare, even for me - and I live alone! I can't wait to dive into your blog. I have friends in Uganda so it's near and dear to my heart :) Thanks for dropping by!

Loved seeing about Passion 2011 on your list. Three of my kids went to it along with two boyfriends. Four of my kids went last year. It's been amazing for them. It was neat we could listen to some of it here at home! Blessings!

Thanks Melanie :) My Charlie Brown tree was a gift from a very special little family & I think it is likely one of my happiest presents ever! Something about that tree just made me smile every time I passed by.

Loni, this was the first time I had seen any of the actual conference. Have they streamed it in the past? I only saw John Piper's sermon but loved it from start to finish. The music, of course was wonderful. I was blown away by the generosity of the kids, too! It is AWESOME that some of your kids could go. There are so many opportunities for young people these days if they are willing to dive in. Thanks for dropping by :)
